University of South Carolina Death COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has confirmed it is investigating a death that occurred Tuesday at an apartment complex near the University of South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena.

According to officials, SLED was requested by the University of South Carolina Police Department to assist with the investigation into the on-campus death, which took place earlier in the day. As a result of the investigation, road closures are in effect in the area surrounding Colonial Life Arena. Gamecock Athletics announced that Lincoln Street between Blossom Street and Devine Street is closed until further notice. Gamecock Athletics also advised fans attending Tuesday night’s basketball game to plan accordingly and allow extra time for travel due to the street closures.
